MOBYDICK – Marine Ecosystem Biodiversity and Dynamics of Carbon around Kerguelen: an integrated view

Ingrid OBERNOSTERER

Ingrid Obernosterer is a senior CNRS Research Scientist at the Laboratoire d’Océanographie Microbienne (Banyuls-sur-mer, France). Her research interests include the marine biogeochemical cycles of carbon and iron, microbial ecology, and diversity. Links between the bioavailability of different sources of dissolved organic carbon and the microbial community, and the coupling between the carbon and iron cycles through microbial metabolism are presently specific research issues.

She has participated to the KEOPS 1 and KEOPS 2 projects (Kerguelen Ocean and Plateau compared study) and  she is presently involved in the projects SOCLIM (Southern Ocean and Climate) and  HEOBI (Heard Earth-Ocean-Biosphere Interactions) carried out in different regions of the Southern Ocean.
